It's Saturday....and that means it's time for another Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch.
I do admit that I was feeling a bit like a rebel this week. I stayed true to the background portion of the sketch, but I decided to change up the focal image a bit.
Here's my interpretation of the sketch:
As you can see, I used a circle for my focal image instead of the rectangle. It's okay to be different.....the operators at Stamping 411 want you to expand your horizons.
Let's talk about the card.
The base card (5 1/2 x 8 1/2, folded in half) is More Mustard.
The next layer is some brand new gorgeous patterned paper from the Autumn Traditions designer series paper pack. I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.
The strip measures 1 1/2" x 5 1/4", and it is the reverse side of the leaf patterned paper. It's a very subtle Soft Suede print. The edges of this strip were also sponged with Soft Suede ink. I did a double ribbon treatment here: on the bottom is Very Vanilla wide grosgrain followed by the Soft Suede polka dot ribbon (I used the back side which is plain).
I cut the More Mustard circle using my Circle Scissor Plus. I stamped the leaf image (from Autumn Harvest) with More Mustard ink. As you can see with all my projects, I love texture. I added some more depth to my card by rolling with the Texture jumbo wheel using More Mustard ink. The Soft Suede ink along the edges just adds to all the dimension.
I stamped the "thanks" (from Thank You Kindly stamp set) with Soft Suede ink. I cut out three of the leaves from a scrap of patterned paper. One of the leaves is placed on a dimensional to reinforce my texture theme. I also curled up the edges of the leaves.
My final embellishment is the addition of two Vintage Brads (this follows with the sketch).
I really like the way this card turned out....especially the warmth of the colors.
Now, it's your turn. The Operators at Stamping 411 would love for you to create a card using this sketch. We would also love to see your card. So make sure to use Mr. Linky on the Stamping 411 site to link your card to our blog. We select five favorites (which is SO hard to do because you all are creating beautiful projects) and post them on Thursday.
Until next time....Happy Stamping everyone!
