Finally I am back with my Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch project. I tried to post it last night, but I am having some Typepad issues. I was at a vendor fair this morning showcasing my "Journey to Black Belt" Scrapbook at a local Taekwondo event. I will talk more about that tomorrow.
This week's sketch was pretty simple if it wasn't for that design element above the focal piece. Rather than a "roof-like" structure, I changed it up a bit.
Would you like to see?......
I made my bear look like she is peeking out one of those fancy windows......in her jammies......reaching out to catch a floating heart.
Let's start with the base card......Rich Razzleberry (a delicious new color).....5 1/2 x 8 1/2" then folded in half.
The next layer is patterned paper that I made myself. I used my Beary Nice Wishes stamp set and repeatedly stamped the sentiment with Orchid Opulence ink. I also lightly sponged the edges with Orchid Opulence ink.
I used my Big Shot and the Scallop Circle #2 die to cut an Orchid Opulence scalloped circle. I then texturized it with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate. I sponged the edges with Orchid Opulence ink then dotted with my white gel pen.
I cut a 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" square of patterned paper (from the Cottage Wall DSP pack) and sponged the edges with Old Olive ink.
Now....it's time for the bear......she's the BEST part!!!!
I cut her out using my Big Shot and Creamy Caramel cardstock. Her muzzle is cut from Close to Cocoa cardstock.
Now, the trick to making these bears look realistic is to sponge them and add some chalk pastel accents. I like to swipe a bit of pastels on the ears and cheeks. Adding some white gel pen on the nose and each eye finishes off my sweet little bear.
Her jammie top is also cut from the Cottage Wall DSP.
The finishing touch is adding a strip of Rich Razzleberry under the bear (looks like a windowsill) and a ribbon knot (Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon).
Isn't it cute? Yes, I deviated from the sketch by not using a triangle, but I love this card.
What do you think? I love your comments so if you have the time......show me the love!!!! LOL!!!
Now, it's your turn. Make sure to link it to the Stamping 411 website so we can show you the love.
Until next time......Happy Stamping everyone!!!
