I can't believe it's Saturday already. This has been a week from H..E...double-hockey sticks. Each day a different person in the family has been coming down this wacky virus. First, my brother....then my niece.....then my nephew......now Christopher (my son). We're just waiting to see who's next........
Onto happier things......like this Saturday Sketch from the Stamping 411 blog.
Here are the "deets" on this card:
The base card is Night of Navy cardstock (5 1/2" x 8 1/2"), folded in half
The Bashful Blue layer is embossed with my Big Shot and the Petals a Plenty Impressions die. I sponged the edges with Bashful Blue ink and matted it on a 1/8" larger piece of Whisper White cardstock.
The next layer is a combination of Whisper White cardstock that has been stamped with the small snowflakes (from Serene Snowflakes) using Bashful Blue ink. I also sponged the edges with Bashful Blue ink. The bottom of this layer is Bravo Burgandy cardstock that has its top edge punched with the Scallop Edge punch. I wrapped some Bashful Blue striped grosgrain ribbon and tied it into a classic knot. This entire layer is matted on a 1/8" larger layer of Night of Navy cardstock.
I cut a 2 1/2" circle from Brocade Blue cardstock using my Circle Scissor Plus. I stamped those same little snowflakes using Whisper White Craft ink. I also sponged the edges with the white ink too.
I stamped the ice (using Bashful Blue ink) on Whisper White cardstock. I cut it out and sponged it with Frost White Shimmer Paint.
I used my markers to color directly on the penguin stamp (Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Bravo Burgandy). I then blushed his cheeks with the Pretty in Pink chalk pastels. I cut him out and placed him on the ice using a dimensional.
To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment using Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock. I punched it with the Small Oval punch, sponged the edges with Bashful Blue ink and glued to the card under the knot.
Well, that's about it for this very lumpy card. Yup, extra postage for sure, but I don't have to worry about that. Mom lives close by....and I'll give this to her the next time I see her. I bet she'll frame it and make it a decoration for the winter season.
