A Touch From the Heart

Red, White and Blue

This week's Blogger's Challenge was to create a project using red, white and blue.

At first I was going to make a patriotic card, but then I thought a graduation card might be in order (especially since the kids have been to invited to a bunch of grad parties).

This card is so super simple.  

The base card is Real Red.

The Brocade Blue cardstock has been grunged up using the direct to paper technique (using a Brocade Blue ink pad).

The Whisper White cardstock has been stamped with the stars from Starring You using Real Red ink.  I love this little stamp set.....so versatile!!!

The focal image (Happy Grad from the Summer Mini) has been inked with Brocade Blue ink.  I sponged the edges with Brocade Blue ink.  It's double-matted.....first on Real Red....then finally on Night of Navy.

Before adhering the focal image to the card, I added one of the Star Designer Brads.  Do you see the detail work on the brad.  So easy to do when you own some fine tipped Sharpie markers. 

Well, I told you it was super simple.  I just need to bang out about 10 more of these babies for all the grad parties!!!!

Happy Graduation

Last week I missed Blogger's Challenge......life was too hectic to get my project done in time.

This week, I made time..........sometimes you need to push stuff off to the side and do something for yourself, right? 

This week's Blogger's Challenge was a color challenge.  The colors are blue, orange and moss. 

As I mentioned, my kids are getting invited to oodles and oodles of graduation parties.  So, I thought I would play with my new graduation stamp.  It will be in the Summer Mini and it's less than $10.  Woo hoo!!!!

The base card is Mellow Moss.  The next layer is Night of Navy.  I've been in a ink pad dragging mood lately......so for this card I dragged my Whisper White Craft pad along this layer.

The Pumpkin Pie layer has been stamped with the star outline stamp from Starring You using Whisper White Craft ink. 

The focal image has been inked with my markers (Night of Navy, Mellow Moss, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue).  I love how I can use my markers to add lots of colors to one stamp.   I sponged the edges with Bashful Blue ink prior to matting onto Night of Navy and Bashful Blue. 

The finishing touch is a star punched from Mellow Moss cardstock, sponged with Mellow Moss ink and blinged up with a blue crystal from an Ice Rhinestone Brad (removed from the brad casing).
