Retiring Accessories Announced

Good morning!

Are you ready to grab your catalog and your highlighter?  Stampin' Up! has announced its retiring accessories list.  Please note that all retiring accessories are available on a WHILE SUPPLIES LAST basis.

When viewing the list, you will notice a few things.  Let's talk about those, shall we?

- you will see that ALL Classic Ink Pads are being retired.  Please note that the ink pads are being redesigned.  The new ink pad design has a foam ink pad so inking your stamps is easier and yields better results.  The only colors going away are the 2010-2012 In Colors (Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Concord Crush).

- 12 x 12 Textured Cardstock has been discontinued

- some 12 x 12 Smooth Cardstock colors are being discontinued in individual color packs.  They will still be available in color collection packs.

- some individual colors of Stampin' Write markers have been discontinued.  They will still be available in the Color Collection packs.  

- The Definitely Decorative (Decor Elements) line of products have been discontinued.

- The Simply Adorned jewelry line products have been discontinued.  

- items marked with a single asterisk (*) are being reconfigured (i.e heat tool, paper piercing tool, etc...)

Something Old, Something New

I spent some time re-organizing my stamp set cabinet.  I pulled out all my stamp sets that are retiring and placed them in a box so I can give them some extra attention this month before they retire forever.  I forgot my total retired count, but it's somewhere around 35 stamp sets.

Let's be honest.  Will I miss all of those stamp sets?  Heck no!  In fact, there's some that I will happily let go of.  But, there's a precious group that will be added to my dresser drawer full of my beloved favorites.

This year's honorees are:

Friends 24-7, Bella Toile (background stamp), All Holidays, Schoolbook Serif alphabets

In fact, I couldn't resist my Friends 24-7.  I paired it with the Delicate Doilies stamp set...which will be making it's grand debut on July 1st.  I think it creates the perfect frame, don't you?

Retirement Lists are Here!

It's June 1st, and that means that Stampin' Up! announces what's retiring out of the current 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog.

This year there's three retirement lists (click on the links to view them):

1. stamp set retirement list
2. accessories retirement list
3. Definitely Decorative retirement list

 

Now, there's a few things to remember.........

• the retiring stamp sets will be available until June 30th
• the retiring accessories are available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST
• the retiring Definitely Decorative items are available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST

If you are an accessories lover like I am, I encourage you to place your order early as these items sell out quickly.

The best way to place an order is through an online order on my demonstrator website.  Just click on "Shop Now" below my name to enter the online store.  While you are there, check out what's on the Clearance Rack.  There's still some fabulous bargains on there!!!!

Here's some things to remember:

• all stamp sets are available until June 30th

• all accessories are available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST

Please note that some of the accessories are on sale and some are being re-configured (not truly retiring.....just going to be renamed, look different, in different sized packaging, etc....)

The best way to order Last Chance List items is through my demonstrator website.  It's easy to do, and you will know right away if an item has sold out.

Of course, I can take your traditional emailed order as well.  Just please send me your phone number as well so I can contact you in case any of your items have sold out (in case you want to order something else or in a different color).

With the Color Renovation, I am expecting the retiring accessories list to be quite long.  Make sure you place your order early to hopefully get everything on your wish list. 

Stamping 411: Saturday Sketch

What are your dreams for when you retire?

Dennis and I would like to travel.  We want to go on a cruise, explore Europe and rent an RV and drive across the United States just to name a few.

When I saw this week's sketch, I will admit that I didn't have a clue what stamp set to use.  I sat at my desk in the Stampin' Studio and pondered.  I had my pack of Island Oasis dsp on my desk and that's where this card began.

I chose the dsp with the palm leaves on it because it's not too distracting from what needed to be on my focal image.  The top part of the focal image is So Saffron cardstock.  Where the papers meet, I added a torn piece of Tempting Turquoise to resemble the ocean.

I inked the palm tree (from the stamp set called Tropical Party arriving on May 1st) with my Old Olive and Chocolate Chip  markers.  I cut it out and popped it up with a dimensional. 

It still needed something....so I punched a flower using the Boho Blossom punch and sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.  I tucked it behind the "ocean" to resemble the sun setting on a gorgeous tropical beach.  Ahhhhhhh, can't you just picture it?

The rest of the card came easily.  The base card is Tempting Turquoise.  The Whisper White layer is dry embossed using my Big Shot and the brand new Square Lattice Impressions Folder (also coming May 1st).  I love how it resembles the texture of a beach mat!!! 

The finishing touch is a strip of the dsp from the same Island Oasis dsp pack and a tropical flower cut out from the dsp.  I added a clear rhinestone to the center to give it some bling!  The sentiment comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes and it nestles perfectly into the Word Window punch. 

I am really happy with the card.......although, it's making me really miss the beach.  I love the beach!!!  It's my favorite vacation......I'm sure I will drag Dennis to plenty of beaches when we retire!!
