Even at my ripe old age of 29 (cough, cough), I still like to play! I've been spending some time in the Stampin' Studio coming up with new products to sell at the craft fairs this season.
A lot of the time, a project idea will pop into my head as I am trying to fall asleep.
With Thanksgiving soon upon us and Hanukkah and Christmas approaching after that, I decided to experiment with some paper and ink to make some wine bottle toppers. Giving someone a bottle of wine is a perfect way to thank someone for sharing their home with you!
Now, here's where my "soon to sleep" inspiration comes to play. I wanted to make coordinating wine glass charms to attach to the wine bottle topper. Paper is easy....but it gets wet. I want the person receiving them to use them over and over!!!
Sooooooo.....I made the charms with shrink plastic. As per the instructions on the shrink plastic, you need to sand the plastic with sand paper or a sanding block in a crosshatch pattern. I then stamped my images using Black StazOn ink. I colored my images with colored pencils. The images are punched out with the 1 3/4" circle punch. I also added a 1/4" hole for the wire. Using my heat gun, I watched with delight as the circles shrunk and curled into little wine glass charms. Those circles shrunk 45% of their size. SO COOL!!!! The charms are added to silver earring loops with some cute coordinating beads.
I made all different designs...lots of holiday colors...using retired patterned paper that I tend to hoard. Oh, I had so much fun!!!!
I can't wait to unveil them Thursday night (6-9pm) at the Ladies Night Out at the Mustard Seed Nursery in Carver, MN. If you live in the area, I hope you can stop by. There will be lots of vendors there with gifts perfect for the holidays!
