Happy Saturday!!!! Do you have big plans for the weekend? Nothing major going on here.....just relaxing with the family and getting house chores done.
Each Saturday, the Stamping 411 Operators (design team) publish their interpretation of the weekly sketch (this weeks shown above). I love how we all interpret it differently. Bonus....we each have very different stamping styles....so the results are always fun!!!
Here's my project for the week......
I've had this stamp set for two weeks now, and I just got the chance to play with it. I know....I know....."girl, what took you so long?". Life's been really busy here. But, at least I can show you stuff now!!!!
Okay let's talk about the "deets":
The base card is Chocolate Chip.
The next layer is is a "mish mash" of things. The green patterned paper comes from the new Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper pack (coming Sept 1st). These patterned papers are designed to work with the Build-a-Bear products (also coming Sept 1st).
The bottom of this layer is Pretty in Pink cardstock. I stamped the sentiment (from Beary Nice Wishes....available Sept 1st) using Chocolate Chip ink.
Now I don't like to see where papers meet. So, I always cover them with something. For this card I took a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock that has it's bottom edge punched with the Eyelet Border Punch. It still needed something....so I added Certainly Celery wide grosgrain with some Pretty in Pink 1/4" grosgrain on top.
I also added a button (from the Latte buttons pack). Rather than using thread in the button I cut a really thin strip of Very Vanilla cardstock, threaded it through the holes and secured to the back of the button with a mini glue dot. Cool, huh? Now your "thread" can match your project....every time!!!
Now onto the bear......love this little bear. The stamp set Beary Best Friends (also available Sept 1st) has both a boy and girl bear as well as accessories to place in their hands. For this project, I chose the balloon.
The bear is stamped with Black StazOn ink on watercolor paper. I watercolored the image using reinkers and an Aquapainter (Creamy Caramel for bear....Certainly Celery for shoes). I sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa ink.....then matted on Chocolate Chip cardstock.
See the bear's dress? It's patterned paper. I simply stamped the bear onto patterned paper (also from the Pawsitively Prints pack). I cut out the dress only. I used my white Signo gel pen to color in the collar. I then adhered the dress onto the bear image I watercolored. This technique is called Paper Piecing.
The Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper has lots of patterns perfect for the bears' clothing.
The balloon is also paper pieced. I used Pretty in Pink cardstock....attached to my card....then added Crystal Effects for some added shine. It's the perfect touch to finish the card.
Well, I hope we have inspired you to make a project with this sketch. Be sure to link it to the Stamping 411 blog using Mr. Linky so we call take a peek.
Have a "beary" nice weekend!!!
Until next time....Happy Stamping everyone!!!
