Wow! This week sure went by fast!!! It's the weekend. Thank goodness!!! It also means it's time for another Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch.
I had a really hard time with this one. I'm still not completely thrilled with my card, but sometimes you just need to step back and take things for what they are.
Tell me what you think of it.......
The floating head is what really bugs me!!! I keep thinking of Nearly Headless Nick from the Harry Potter books. LOL!!!!
Here are the details on the card:
The Chocolate Chip base card measures 4 1/4" x 11" (scored in half).
The patterned paper is from the Pawsitively Prints DSP pack. These papers are designed to go with the Build a Bear products.
I used my Big Shot and the Build a Bear (BAB) Bear die to cut the head out of Close to Cocoa cardstock. I used Creamy Caramel for the muzzle. I placed a 1" Basic Black circle behind the bear for the eyes and nose. I used a small piece of Pretty in Pink for the mouth. I like to sponge my bears to make them look more realistic. Of course, I resort to my handy dandy Close to Cocoa ink for this. I also like to use the White Signo gel pen to add highlights to her eyes.
The flower (from the Trio Flower Punch) is punched from Pretty in Pink cardstock. I made her collar using the Scallop Circle punch and some Whisper White cardstock. I cut it in half and secured behind the bear.
For the hearts, I punched a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock with the Full Heart punch. Using my piercing tool, I pierced along the edges. The inside heart is punched from Whisper White cardstock using the Heart to Heart punch. I sponged lightly with Close to Cocoa ink.
Now for the sentiment. I inked only a portion of the stamp using my Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink markers. I stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White and punched with the Large Oval punch. I lightly sponged and matted it on a Pretty in Pink piece of cardstock punched with the Scallop Oval punch.
The finishing touch is some White Organza ribbon and two clear rhinestones. The rhinestones can easily be removed from the brad casing and glued to the card using Tombow Liquid glue.
Well, that's about it folks. It's another crazy weekend here. Chris turns 17 on Sunday.......just don't know where the time went.....in my eyes he's still that little 3 year old running around and needing help.
If you have time, we would love to have you play along with the sketch. If you make a project be sure to link it to the Stamping 411 blog using Mr. Linky. You never know....you might just be showcased on our Friday post.
