I was tempted to make a birthday card, but I decided to make a treat holder instead for this week's Blogger's Challenge.
Favor bags can get really expensive. A friend of mine had a fabulous idea. Give each child a $5.00 gift card to a local book store. They really don't need anymore plastic cheapie novelty toys......but kids can always read a new book.
The favor bags start with a 4" x 11" piece of Regal Rose cardstock. I scored the long side at 5" and 6".
I ran the cardstock through the Big Shot using the Finial Press Impressions Folder. You need to do it two times (one on each end to completely cover the cardstock).
I punched the top with my Modern Label punch to make the handle.
The white piece of cardstock measures 4" x 3 3/4". I used the Scallop Edge punch on the upper edge.
I wrapped some Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon and tied it into a classic knot.
I stamped the adorable cupcake (from Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set) onto Whisper White cardstock using Black StazOn ink. I used my aquapainter and reinkers to color in the cupcake (Regal Rose and Close to Cocoa). The sprinkles were colored in with a Regal Rose marker.
The sentiment (from Teeny Tiny Wishes) is stamped with Black StazOn ink onto Apricot Appeal cardstock. I punched it out with the Modern Label punch and added it to my treat bag.
Now, what holds the gift card? Take some scrap cardstock and make a pouch. Easy peasy!!!!
I can't wait to see what the other Blogger's Challenge stampers have been up to. Simply click on the Blogger's Challenge icon on the right sidebar of my blog to check them out!!
All of the items used for today's project are available from Stampin' Up! If you would like to place an order, click here to go to my demonstrator website.

I love the idea and the treat holder. Very, very cute and I know it would be darling in any color combo. I think the gift card to a book store is fabulous -- encourages kids to read and that is a skill they will use forever! Terrific idea!
